FAQs

Where does the money go?

Money raised at the Blast is donated Primarily to local charities

Rotary clubs around the world raise money through local events such as this in order to conduct both local and international projects; examples are local scholarships, high school exchange students, local park and recreation projects, homeless shelter assistance, literacy programs, programs for the elderly, a new wing for a Ronald McDonald house, and on and on. Money raised at the Blast is donated Primarily to local charities and is NOT used for club operating expenses. Club members take care of that need themselves.

How much money goes for labor?

Rotarians and their families work throught the year to make this event a success. The only paid labor is the band and security.

What is a Sponsorship?

A number of local businesses choose to support the Blast as a means to let the consuming public know that they are deeply committed to the charitable works of the community and groups like Rotary. A sponsorship provides graduated levels of public recognition for the sponsor through our Blast flyers and media ads and website. We invite you to join us in creating an event that has something for everyone.

Are tickets and sponsorships considered business expenses? Is the ticket cost tax deductible?

Generally any gift to a 501(c)3 organization is both deductible and expensable to the extent that the cost exceeds tangible benefits. Please consult your tax advisor for particulars in your case.

How do you select cars?

Much thought and planning is necessary to keep the show "fresh" and the cars different each year. We have already selected the cars to be featured in the 2006 Blast indoor car show. However, if you'd like to submit a photo of your car for future consideration, we'd love to have a look!

No pre-screening is necessary for the outdoor cruz-in. There is a marked off area in the Pavilion parking lot and cars are on display from 6:00 p.m. to midnight.

Can I reserve a table for my group?

Groups have a great time at this event! You need to get there early to reserve a space for you and your party. We will have a small area reserved for guests of the sponsors who have made this event possible. Special passes will be necessary to be seated in that area.

Do you give group rates

No group rates are in effect. We do offer a $5 discount to military personnel and their dependents who present a valid military ID card.

How can I get my charity to receive some of the benefits of Rotary.

Do you ever have costume contests? Dance competition? Any other competitions?

Be prepared to “stroll across the floor” in full revelry during our costume competition! Other events are still being planned.

Can we bring outside refreshments?

We ask that you not compete with our fundraising food sales. Birthday cakes are the exception. If you are celebrating your birthday at the event, feel free to bring a birthday cake, paper plates, etc.

Will food be served?

Yes! Plan on coming early and having dinner. We will have hamburgers, chips, soft drinks, beer and wine available, among other snack items.

Can we help?

Bring your friends, family, neighbors...

What to wear?

Costume is not mandatory, but it makes the evening much more fun. Come in your best 50s/60s, or beatniks attire! Dress as a vintage movie star, singer or other performer.
